Built by the people
who carried the pager.
Wakora was not invented in a pitch deck. It grew inside a hosting operation that had run production fleets for over fifteen years — client servers, client sites, client money — and got tired of monitoring you have to babysit, doubt, or explain to an auditor.
Why it exists
The stack we replaced will sound familiar: an aging check system that alerted honestly but understood nothing, a SaaS bolted on top for the pretty graphs, scripts holding the two together, and a human who woke up at 4 a.m. anyway — because none of it could tell what actually broke. Fifteen years of running other people's production teaches you exactly what monitoring should be: it should find things by itself, tell the truth about them, and wake the right person only when it matters. So we built that, as one product, and made every claim about it checkable.
The rules we do not break
Verify, don't trust. The agent's source is public, its builds are reproducible byte for byte, and the trust pack — threat model, data flow, SBOM, DPA — is published, not gated behind a sales call. If we say it, you can check it.
Secrets never leave your server. Database passwords and SNMP credentials are resolved locally and stay encrypted on your host. The platform authenticates the agent, never your services.
We never restart your services. Anything that needs a reload is staged, and the console shows you the exact command. The click is yours. Always.
Billing must be boring. Invoices are computed on your monthly average, quotas are visible at all times, and nothing is ever added without your explicit click. Monitoring vendors that punish you for your own growth built half our motivation.
Alerts must reach a human. A dashboard nobody watches is not alerting. Escalation chains, on-call schedules, and — when it matters — a phone call that speaks.
Honesty by default. The changelog records what shipped including what we broke, and the engineering blog tells the failure stories with the lessons attached. A monitoring company that hides its own incidents is a contradiction we refuse to be.
Where it runs
Wakora is built and hosted in the EU, GDPR-first, with data residency as a region choice. The engineering is documented in public: the code, the builds, the security model and the weekly record of what changed. For everything else, there is a short contact page — a human reads it.
The product says it better than the about page.
